The ACS Varsity Boys basketball team hosted the Cornerstone Christian Lions from San Angelo on Friday Dec 12 in a much anticipated rematch from last year. The Cornerstone Lions were a playoff team in 2024, however, the Mustangs were prepared for the test. ACS controlled the opening tip off and quickly jumped out to a 9-0 lead after connecting on three consecutive 3 point shots by Foshea, Lucke and Marshall on their first three trips down the floor. ACS then went on to control the game for the rest of the night. The final score was Austin Classical 60 - Cornerstone 44.

The Mustangs played excellent team defense and held the All State Big Man from Cornerstone to just 13 points on the night. On Offense it was also a fantastic team effort as well. The Mustangs distributed the ball very well and four Mustangs (Lucke, Stone Hurt, Levi Marshall, and Foshea) had double figure point totals. With this fantastic ball movement and selfless offensive attack, the Lions never knew where the threat was coming from.

The Varsity Boys and Girls will be back in action this coming week with Home games for both teams at Anderson Mill Baptist Church this Friday 12/19 and Saturday 12/20. Come out and support your Mustangs!!!
